December 12, 2025 -- Nostalgia is headed back to the big screen. Paramount Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming Street Fighter live‑action film, showcasing Chun‑Li, Ken, Ryu, and other fan‑favorite fighters from Capcom’s legendary video game franchise. The trailer debuted during the 2025 Game Awards, where members of the cast appeared onstage to introduce the film’s first official look.

Street Fighter began in 1987 as a Capcom arcade experiment centered on Ryu and Ken’s global martial‑arts journey, but it was 1991’s Street Fighter II that redefined the fighting‑game genre and became one of the most successful arcade titles ever made. Its international roster, precise mechanics, and competitive design sparked a worldwide phenomenon, spawning sequels, spin‑offs, and cross‑media adaptations. More than 35 years later, the franchise remains one of Capcom’s most influential pillars and a foundational force in modern esports.
Paramount’s new live‑action adaptation arrives October 16, 2026. Set in 1993, the film follows estranged warriors Ryu and Ken as they are drawn back into combat when the mysterious Chun‑Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. What begins as a global showdown of elite fighters soon reveals a deeper conspiracy—one that forces the former allies to confront their past, their loyalties, and ultimately each other. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film brings the iconic franchise to life with signature moves, high‑energy action, and a cast led by Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, and Callina Liang, alongside Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoai, David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, and Jason Momoa.
