A deliciously crafted case that keeps viewers guessing to the final bite

Hallmark stirs up a fresh batch of intrigue with its newest installment in the beloved Hannah Swensen Mystery franchise. This time, the quiet charm of Lake Eden is shaken when a suspect in a high‑profile forgery case turns up murdered — and the lead prosecutor suddenly disappears. With two cases colliding, Hannah and Chad must sift through clues, motives, and misdirection before the trial clock runs out.

Based on the long‑running book series by Joanne Fluke — more than 30 cozy mysteries blending small‑town suspense with irresistible recipes — the Hannah Swensen universe continues to evolve while keeping its signature warmth.

Chris and Will go undercover during an exclusive early screening, slipping straight into full detective mode. The film pulls them in fast, and before long, they find themselves tracking clues as if they were part of the investigation.

“A great evening movie. It grabs your attention and keeps you solving right alongside the characters. We felt like undercover private investigators — convinced we cracked the case before the reveal. It’s a new style of mystery, yet still unmistakably a Hallmark film. Ten‑out‑of‑ten smiles.”

The production design is a standout. The cinematography is rich, warm, and — in true Hannah Swensen fashion — delicious. There were moments where the baked‑goods' close-ups made us want to pause the movie and preheat the oven.

Chris, a certified Le Cordon Bleu bakery chef, couldn’t help but feel right at home.

“I baked my own wedding cake. I love family recipes, but there are definitely ingredients I avoid — and the film reminded me exactly why.”

Best Served Cold: A Hannah Swensen Mystery follows Hannah (Alison Sweeney) and Chad (Victor Webster) as they unravel a deadly forgery scheme tied to a pawnshop scam. With the prosecutor missing and the suspect dead, the stakes rise quickly — and the twists keep coming. Barbara Niven returns as Delores, adding her signature charm and comedic timing. Fans of the franchise will find everything they love: cozy suspense, character chemistry, and a mystery that rewards close attention.

Hallmark’s new direction feels confident, modern, and refreshingly bold. Best Served Cold blends classic cozy‑mystery comfort with a sharper, more cinematic edge — a unique shift that works beautifully.

So grab your sweets, settle into the couch, and get ready to play detective. This one is worth savoring.

Premiere: Saturday, May 16 at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel Streaming: Next day on Hallmark+ Stars: Alison Sweeney, Victor Webster, Barbara Niven
